Testimonials

Not sure if Sundown Swing is for you? See how much others have enjoyed our performances......

We were absolutely delighted with the concert and so were the audience. We are very grateful for all your hard work to help us raise money and we do hope you can come back again in the future,

Carole Saunders, President of Calpe and Benissa Lions, Calpe, Spain

Thank you all so much for such a lovely evening last Tuesday...

Charlie Calcott, El Cid bar/restaurant, Benidoleig, Spain.

.....I came to your concert {Golden Acre Park} for part of the 2nd half. It was great! Surrounded by audience in the sun with a few dancers to your right. I loved your Birdland. Please pass on my congratulations and thanks for the concert to the rest of the band.

Florence Fawcett, Music Officer, Leeds International Concert Season, 13th August 2017

I am writing on behalf of Huddersfield Pennine Rotary Club to thank you most sincerely for the splendid performance of 'Sundown Swing' at our annual June Fair on Sunday 25th June.

As usual many of those present including the Mayor and Consort commented on your music and vocals and how enjoyable it was. Stall holders were almost fighting to be allocated their stalls near to where the band performs.

I look forward to seeing you again and wish the band all the best on your trip to Spain.

Peter Bottomley on behalf of Pennine Rotary Club 28th June 2017

.Toe-tapping night of classic swing...finger-clicking classics introduced by witty compere and muscial director Neil Jowett....water-tight ensemble playing set the scene....syncopations driven by a spot-on rhythm section. Luscious melting tones from singer Diane Armer thawed out any remainig chill along with side-kick Robert Gee's velvety tones in Baby its Cold Outside.....

Please will you pass on our thanks, from the Huddersfield Soroptimists to the members of
Sundown Swing, for their support in our fund-raising event.
The Concert Programme was arranged so smoothly, between yourselves and the Marsh
Ladies Choir. Many people have told us how much they enjoyed the music, the performance
and the items you chose.
We are pleased to say that we have raised about £800.00 for our Charities, the Huddersfield
WomenCentre and Invisible Traffick

A belated thank you for your group providing very enjoyable musical entertainment on our Golden Wedding night celebration which was much appreciated by myself and Susan, and indeed by the whole party. Many thanks,

What a fabulous day!!!!

We all want to say a huge thank you to you and your glorious band – you were fantastic!!!!!   It was an amazing site seeing you all sat there in the marquee and so many people came to us and said how fantastic you sounded.

I can’t thank you enough for helping make the day so special and hope to see you all playing again very soon.

I am just letting you know how delighted everyone was with the success of Friday night. I want to thank everyone involved in the musical entertainment particularly the individual performances by Rachel and Gail. Those attending were privileged to enjoy a wide variety of music that added greater dimensions to the evening.

The band was fantastic with musical and vocal solo performances outstanding. The way everyone agreed to the numerous changes to plans assisted the enjoyment of our first ever swing band night. The comments from the audience were all positive and we will be encouraged to arrange a further similar event.  David Hibbert, Huddersfield Golf Club, 23rd October 2015

The choir’s guests, Sundown Swing, is a stylish group who treated the audience to classics from the 30s to the 70s.

Like the choir, the band mastered dynamic contrasts, which particularly showed in their muted phrases. The band’s soloists were brilliant in their featured sections. David Heathcote reviewing the band in the Huddersfield Daily Examiner when they appeared as guests of Marsh Ladies Choir  at their 60th Anniversary concert on 3rd October 2015

Thank you. Wonderful afternoon, very good selection of music and I love Mr Jowett’s banter with the musicians and crowd. Mary Kenworthy, Friends of Beaumont Park
